Literacy Volunteers of Gloucester, Inc. (LVG) is looking for volunteers 21 and older to become literacy tutors. Tutors help adults learn to read, write, or speak English. No foreign language skills are necessary. Tutors are also needed to help adults learn basic math skills.

Tutors work one-on-one for up to two hours a week. They typically meet with students in a space provided by LVG, or in a library or community center, at mutually convenient times.

Orientation and free training sessions for prospective volunteers are scheduled on an ongoing, as needed, basis.

LVG is also looking for tech-savvy individuals to assist with web site maintenance and social media outreach.

If you would like to become a literacy volunteer, or just need more information, please contact the LVG office.
